FAQ

Will there be groups for children at the in-person Christmas services?

Yes, all our in-person services will include KingsGate Kids groups. Places for these in Cambridge need to be booked in advance so that we can cater for numbers. In Peterborough and Leicester, places do not need to be pre-booked and are offered on a first come, first served basis on the day.

How do I pre-register kids for Cambridge?

Just register online.

Do I need to pre-book tickets for the in-person Christmas services?

No, if you are planning to attend our in-person services in any location, you will not need to book tickets in advance. Just come along on the day!

I’ve never been to an in-person service at KingsGate before, what should I expect?

We can’t wait to welcome you this Christmas! The first thing to know is that you can come as you are – there’s no need to wear anything special if you don’t want to and you don’t need to bring anything specific with you (although feel free to wear your loudest Christmas jumper!). We recommend aiming to arrive 15 minutes before the published service start time as this will allow you some time to get into the building, orient yourself, enjoy a warm welcome from our team, check in children upon arrival if necessary, and find your seat before the service begins. Speaking of finding your seat, some seats may be reserved for some of our teams, but other than those you’re welcome to sit anywhere you like and wherever you’ll feel most comfortable.

The service will involve contemporary arrangements of traditional carols, a creative presentation of the Christmas story, and a message to help us understand how the Christmas story relates to our lives today. We believe God loves to meet with us during our services and people often describe our services as very moving, but whether you feel anything or not, we hope you’ll really enjoy your time with us and that you’ll stay around afterwards to meet some of our team in the Welcome Lounge – they love getting to meet people who are new to KingsGate over a drink and some Christmas treats, so be sure to go and say hi to them!

If you want more of an idea about what services at KingsGate are like before you come along, why not check out our Facebook or Instagram, or you can watch back last year’s Christmas Celebration Service on YouTube.

How do I access the online Christmas Celebration Service?

We’re so pleased that our online service means that wherever you are, you can join us for Christmas at KingsGate!

You can also enjoy our service on a smart TV by opening your YouTube app and searching for kingsgate.church in order to access our channel and service.

Are in-person services fully accessible?

We welcome anyone with accessibility requirements and will endeavour to accommodate any needs you may have. If you are a Blue Badge Holder, please let our team know when you arrive so we can ensure you have accessible parking.

I have a different question – how can I get in contact?

If you have any further questions, please email us on info@kingsgate.church and one of our team will get back to you.
