Black History Month
Every October, Black History Month is celebrated nationally, and it’s an opportunity for us as a church to especially reflect on the rich heritage and ongoing contributions of Black individuals and communities to our shared story.
We also love to take the opportunity to honour and thank God for the beautiful diversity of our KingsGate family and the unity we enjoy together. At KingsGate, we are so blessed that our church family reflects the beautiful picture that Revelation 7 presents so vividly of people from many nations, tribes, and tongues, worshipping the Lord together as one.
This Black History Month, we encourage everyone who’s part of KingsGate to learn from history and share stories with one another in order to celebrate the richness of our community, diversity, and unity.

"Black history in Britain goes as far back as it’s possible to go. Children growing up in modern Britain should know their true history, and whether they are black, brown or white, black history is part our of national story."
– Arike Oke / Managing Director, Black Cultural Archives, 2019–2021
